All eyes are on New York as the city is host of New York Fashion week. Designers have made their way to the big apple and brought their Fall/Winter 2016 collections with them. Although the city is finally free from the mountains of snow, the temperatures are at record-breaking lows and in full polar vortex mode.
Despite the arctic temperatures, the shows must go on and so they did. The first few days of fashion week are already giving us plenty of noteworthy coats and separates that include textures, colors and layers to play with for next autumn. The sophistication of Jason Wu’s tailoring, the popular color yellow continues living on in Marissa Webb’s collection and the entire collection by Cushnie et Ochs was romantic, sexy and a great nod to vintage fashion. Then there is that moment when you thought fashion is so casual, laid back and unkempt. Here comes the elegance and high glamour expected by Pamella Roland, and she did not disappoint. I mean hello, if those gowns aren’t red carpet magnets…
Here are some of the collections that have captured our eye so far. Now, keep in mind this is just the beginning.
